Century Bank, the Rio Grande Sun and OHKAY Hotel and Casino are honored to co-host the 4th Annual Super Scholar Awards Banquet. The Super Scholars Banquet recognizes the educational excellence of Northern New Mexico's top graduating seniors and the remarkable educators that have had the biggest influence on the student’s scholastic lives. All public and private high schools in Northern New Mexico are invited to recognize their top graduates. This year the keynote address will be given by New Mexico Senator Leo Jaramillo.

Q: How was I chosen as a Super Scholar?

A: Super Scholars are not actually "chosen," however, they have to meet certain criteria in order to qualify. Super Scholars are graduating seniors are among the top 10% of their graduating class.

Q: When and where is the banquet held?

A: This year the banquet will be held on Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at the OHKAY Resort Casino Hotel. Check in will begin at 5:30 and the banquet will begin at 6:00 p.m.

Q: Are there formal invitations, when will they be sent out and who receives them?

A: Yes, we will send formal invitations during the first week of April. Invitations are sent to the Super Scholar plus two guests that the Super Scholar designates. Guests are typically parents, guardians, family members or friends that the Super Scholar chooses. Invitations are also sent to the educator chosen by the Super Scholar as having the best influence on their education.  Invitations are also sent to the Principal, Head Learner or other representative of the Super Scholar's high school.

Q: Can I choose an educator that is not one of my high school teachers as having the most influence on my education?

A: Yes, a Super Scholar can choose any teacher, educator or mentor that they feel has had the most influence on their education. Please let us know the educator's name and the school where they teach when completing the online form.

Q: Can I bring additional guests?

A: Due do the size of the event, we must limit the number of guests to two per Super Scholar. Educators or high school representatives, unfortunately, may not bring any other guests. If there are special circumstances, please contact Thomas Martinez at 505.367.3202.

Q: Who should I contact if my guests or I have special dietary requirements for the banquet?

A: There will be place where may note that on the Super Scholar Bio form found at the link below. If you still have questions, you may contact Thomas Martinez at 505.367.3202 There will be tickets at the registration table to show that you or your guests have requested a special meal.

Q: What if I am unable to attend?

A: Simply R.S.V.P to Thomas.Martinez@mycenturybank.com and indicate you are unable to attend. If you are a Super Scholar, your award will be given to your high school representative on the evening of the event.
